Pool party at my coworker Jim Walier's house. Jim and SallyAnn are awesome hosts, and the team always have a wonderful time enjoying an afternoon off. We were lucky as the weather cooperated quite nicely, as we had only 20 min of a light rain shower. It certainly helped to have a meteorologist in the household!

Toronto, the place I called home for 13 years. I hosted an executive breakfast event at the downtown Four Seasons for our Canadian banking customers. After the event I had some time to walk around town and snapped a few pictures of the changing landscape in downtown. Yes I ate the famous grilled hotdog as well. Then I went uptown to visit a few old friends, and even went to visit our old family house and my junior high school. A trip down the memory lane for sure. I missed Toronto!

Happy Independence Day! Last year, the Macy's fireworks display moved across town from its traditional East River location to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the exploration of the Hudson River by Henry Hudson. For 2010, Macy once again staged a showstopping pyrotechnic show over the Hudson River off the West side of Manhattan. This means my building has un-obstructed view of the entire show once again!

These are an aggregation of pictures taken during the Middle East Financial Services Road Show. All in all, very sucessful show which hopefully brought great awareness to EMC in this territory. I learned a lot myself, and realized the subtle differences between the various countries in the region. I also got my first opportunity to do a LIVE radio broadcast in Dubai, and got into a few interviews with the local magazines and newspapers. =)
Here is the offical press release: www.ameinfo.com
Other interviews: BusinessWeek Turkey, Khaleej Times, Alwatan Daily

Istanbul. What a spectacularly beautiful city! I am so glad I had a weekend there after the customer event to tour around the city. This historical city extends both on the European and Asian sides of the Bosphorus, and is thereby the only metropolis in the world that is situated on two continents. I did not have time to go to the Asian side but just the European side offered plenty to see already... the magnificent mosques, the habors, underground cistern, royal palaces... you can spend weeks here and still find plenty to do. I will definitely come back here again.

Other cities I toured during the road show. This album contains pics from Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Kuwait, Riyadh and Cairo. Didn't stay in these places too long, so just a few pics from each location. All in all, very hot, some places very humid others very dry. In Kuwait it reached over 130F with humidity! Absolutely unbearable. Oh and I stayed in a villa in Qatar... cuz they ran out of normal rooms in the hotel!

Last day at EMC World. Sessions ended around 3PM, and everybody got freshen up to go to the last event of the convention: The Beantown Bash. The event took place at Faneuil Hall, and due to the chilly weather we placed a giant tent around Quincy Market. The problem with that was, it got extremely crowded in the food court! You will see in the album here... quite an experience. =)

Didn't realize one of the marketing teams actually took a short clip of me during EMC
World, and posted it on Youtube. Here is the short clip.

The official convention begins! It was kicked off by a keynote presentation by our President & COO, Pat Gelsinger. The Solutions Pavilion showroom floor was packed full of customers and partners at our various booths looking for new technology updates, announcements, and demonstrations. Corporate marketing got pretty creative with some fairly fancy booth setups!

EMC World is our annual customer convention. This year it was held at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center from May 10th-13th. All in all close to 6000 attendees participated in 500+ breakout sessions, executive keynotes, live demonstrations and hands-on workshops. I arrived during the afternoon of the 10th when final preparations were still underway. The Counting Crows were the evening's entertainment event!

PUW is a grassroots organization, began in 1994 through the dedicated efforts of patients, families, support groups, and friends who were affected by Parkinson's disease. Their main goal was to raise awareness and funds for research to find a cure for Parkinson's. There were over 10000 participants!

The Bowery Mission has been serving the homeless community since the late 1800's. We volunteered for the "Serve Dinner with Care" service, where we helped by preparing and serving dinner as well as cleanup. It was quite an experience.

Cooking class at Williams Sonoma. This is the first of the three-part healthy cooking series, which begins with seafood, a food that's packed with essential oils and vitamins and low in fat. Two dishes for the day: Grilled Shrimp with Spicy Citrus Marinade, and Grilled Potlatch Salmon with Mango-Cucumber Salsa. Yummmm!

Gorgeous Saturday, temperature in the low-60's. Beautiful blue sky with a light breeze. Walked around Hoboken NJ with my new lens, the 15-85mm IS. The reviews are dead on... this lens is very fast and very sharp. The image stablizator works like a charm. It does not have a fixed aperture but for normal day-time shooting, quite a good lens to carry around. For night time I always have my 30mm f/1.4! =)

The first warm Sunday of the Spring! Temperature hit 70 degrees and wonderful blue sky. Haven't been out much with my camera so dusted off my bag and went up to Washington Heights. Everybody was out, little kids, tourists, folks doing yoga in the park... even caught a close-up with a chipmunk!

I volunteered to be on the career panel. All in all more than 50 high school students and volunteers participated!

Canada wins Olympics Gold in both men and women hockey!!

In a fitting conclusion to the high hockey drama at these Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada's greatest player of this generation led the way to gold for the host country.

Sidney Crosby's goal past Ryan Miller at 7:40 of overtime earned Team Canada the gold medal in a 3-2 victory over the United States. With Crosby and Jarome Iginla perfecting a give-and-go, the Pittsburgh Penguins superstar beat defender Brian Rafalski to the net, accepted the pass and scored past Miller from the right side as Canada Hockey Place erupted in deafening cheers.

The winter of 2010 has been very memorable, as New York City hasn't seen this much snow in a decade. This severe blizzard was on Feb 26th, as a strong-willed winter storm blasted the Northeast on Friday dropping more than 2 feet of snow on some parts of the Tri-State area. It was quite a scene from my apartment window!

There is even an entry for this blizzard in Wikipedia! Link

Snow in Atlanta! Yeah no kidding. This winter has been very snowy all over North America. I heard at one point 49 out of 50 states had snow! Those poor folks in Hawaii... =)

Chinese new years are normally spent with the family, so of course I went to Atlanta to see grandma. My uncle is an awesome cook and he prepared quite a feast!
